18.1 At that hour the disciples came toward Jesus, saying: Who then is the greatest in the kingdom of the heavens? 2 And he called and stood him in their midst, 3 and he said: Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become as children, you will not go into the kingdom of the heavens. 4 Whoever then humbles himself as this child, this man is the greatest in the kingdom of the heavens. 5 And, whoever receives one such child in my name, he receives me. {....} 10.40 He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives the one who sent me. 41 He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall get the wage of a prophet, and he who receives a just man in the name of a just man shall get the wage of a just man. 42 And, whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold liquid in the name of a disciple, amen, I say to you, he will not lose his wage. |
33 And they came into Capernaum. And while he was in the house he asked them: What were you disputing* about on the way? 34 But they were silent, for they had disputed with one another on the way as to who was the greatest. 35 And he sat and summoned the twelve and says to them: If any wishes to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all. 36 And he took a child and stood him in their midst, and he embraced him and said to them: 37 Whoever receives one of the children such as this one in my name, he receives me. and whoever receives me receives not me but rather the one who sent me. {41 For whoever gives you a cup of water in the name, that you are of Christ, amen, I say to you that he will not lose his wage.} |
9.46 But a dispute* came up among them, as to who might be the greatest of them. 47 But Jesus, knowing the disputation of their heart, took a child and stood him beside him, 48 and he said to them: Whoever receives this child in my name, he receives me. and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me. For, the one who is the least among you all, this man is great. {....} 10.16 He who listens to you listens to me, and he who rejects you rejects me. but he who rejects me rejects the one who sent me. |

44 But Jesus shouted and said: He who puts faith
in me puts faith not in me but
rather in the one who sent me,
45 and he who looks on me looks on the
one who sent me.
46 I have come as a light
into the world, so that everyone who puts faith in me might not remain
in the darkness.
47 And, if anyone listens to
my words and does not guard them, I do not judge him, for I came not
in order to judge the world but rather in order to save the world.
48 He who
rejects me and does not accept my words has one
who judges him; the word which I spoke, that is what judges him on the
last day,
49 since I did not speak from my own,
but rather the one who sent me, the father himself, has given me a
commandment on what I should say and what I should speak.
50 And I know that his commandment
is eternal life. The things that I speak, therefore, I speak thus,
just as the father has told me.
