¹ And after these things Jesus was walking around in Galilee, for he did not wish to walk around in Judea, because the Jews were seeking to kill him. ² And the feast of the Jews, that of Booths, was near. ³ His brothers therefore said to him: Leave hence and get into Judea, in order that your disciples also might witness the works which you are doing. ⁴ For no one does anything in secret and himself seeks to be in the open. If you are doing these things, make yourself apparent to the world. ⁵ For not even his brothers had faith in him. ⁶ Jesus therefore says to them: My season is not yet here, but your season is always ready. ⁷ The world cannot hate you, but it hates me, because I testify about it that its works are evil. ⁸ Ascend to the feast yourselves; I am not ascending to the feast, because my season has not yet been fulfilled. ⁹ And after saying these things he remained in Galilee.
