22 But while they were assembling in Galilee Jesus said* to them: The son of man is about to be delivered up into the hands of men, 23 and they will kill him, and he will be raised on the third day. And they were very grieved. |
30 And going out thence they were journeying through Galilee, and he did not wish anyone to know. 31 For he was teaching his disciples and said* to them: The son of man is being delivered up into the hands of men, and they will kill him, and after he has been killed he will resurrect after three days. 32 But they did not know about the word, and they were afraid to ask him. |
43b But, while all were wondering at all the things he had done, he said* toward his disciples: 44 You place these words into your ears, for the son of man is about to be delivered up into the hands of men. 45 But they did not know about this word, and it was hidden from them so that they would not comprehend it, and they were afraid to ask him about this word. |

1 And after these things
Jesus was walking around
in Galilee,
for he did not wish to walk around
in Judea, because the Jews were seeking to
kill him.
2 And the feast of the Jews,
that of Booths, was near.
3 His brothers therefore said to
him: Leave hence and get into Judea, in order that your
disciples also might witness the works which you are doing.
4 For no one does anything in
secret and himself seeks to be in the open. If you are doing
these things, make yourself apparent to the world.
5 For not even his
brothers had faith in him.
6 Jesus therefore says to them:
My season is not yet here, but your season is always ready.
7 The world cannot hate you,
but it hates me, because I testify about it that its
works are evil.
8 Ascend to the feast yourselves;
I am not ascending to the feast, because my season has not
yet been fulfilled.
9 And after saying these
things he remained in Galilee.
