The various endings of Mark comprise a very special case. ¹⁷ A, C^corrected, W, ƒ¹, ƒ¹³, and the Byzantine tradition have λαλησουσιν καιναις; D^supplied and Θ have λαλησωσιν καιναις; C*, L, Δ, and Ψ have λαλησουσιν. Uncial 099 omits γλωσσαις λαλησουσιν καιναις altogether. ¹⁸ C, L, Δ, Ψ, and ~ƒ¹ have και εν ταις χερσιν οφεις αρουσιν; A, D^supplied, W, Θ, ƒ¹³, and the Byzantine tradition have οφεις αρουσιν. ³¹ Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. ³² And I, if I am exalted from the earth, shall draw all men toward myself. ³³ But he said this as a signal of what kind of death he was going to die. ³⁴ The crowd therefore answered him: We have heard from the law that the Christ remains unto the age, and how do you say that it is necessary for the son of man to be exalted? Who is this son of man? ³⁵ Jesus therefore said to them: The light is among you for a little time still. Walk about while you have the light, so that the darkness might not overtake you. And the one walking about in the darkness does not know where he is getting to. ³⁶ While have the light, have faith in the light, so that you might become sons of light. Jesus spoke these things, and he went away and was hidden from them.
