12 But hearing that John had been delivered up he withdrew into Galilee. {23a And he went about in all Galilee,* teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom....} 13 And he left Nazara and came and housed in Capernaum by the sea, in the borders of Zebulun and of Naphtali, 14 that the word through Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, saying: 15 Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the gentiles, 16 The people sitting in darkness saw a great light, and those sitting in the place and shadow of death, light dawned on them. 17 From then on Jesus began to preach and to say: Repent,* For the kingdom of the heavens has drawn near. |
14 But after John had been delivered up Jesus came into Galilee {39a And he came preaching into their synagogues unto all Galilee....*} preaching the gospel of God, 15 and said: The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God has drawn near. Repent* and believe in the gospel. |
14 And Jesus returned in the power of the spirit into Galilee, and rumor went out about him through all the region. 15 And he himself taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all. {16a And he came into Nazara....} |
