standing beside the cross the mother of Jesus himself and the sister of his mother,

26 Jesus therefore, upon seeing his mother
and the disciple whom he loved standing there, says to his mother:
Woman, behold, your son.
27 Then he says to the disciple:
Behold, your mother. And from that hour the disciple took her unto his own.
