{8.18 But Jesus, upon seeing the crowd around him, commanded them to go away* to the other side.*} 23 And when he embarked onto the boat his disciples followed him. 24 And behold, there came a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being covered by the waves.* But he himself was sleeping. 25 And they came toward him and woke him, saying: Lord, save us; we are perishing. 26 And he says* to them:* Why are you afraid,* you of little faith?* Then he awoke and rebuked the winds and the sea. and there came a great calm. 27 But the men wondered, saying: What kind of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him? |
35 And on that day, when evening came, he says* to them:* Let us go across* to the other side.* 36 And, having left the crowd, they take him along with them, just as he was, in the boat, and there were other boats with him. 37 And there came a great gale of wind, and the waves* were casting themselves onto the boat so that the boat was already being swamped. 38 And he himself was in the stern, sleeping on the cushion. And they wake him and say to him: Teacher, is it of no concern to you that we are perishing? 39 And he woke up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea: Silence; be still. And the wind ceased, and there came a great calm. 40 And he said* to them:* Why are you afraid?* Have you no faith?* 41 And they were afraid with a great fear, and they said toward one another: Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obeys him? |
22 But it happened on one of those days that he himself also embarked onto a boat, and also his disciples, and he said* toward them:* Let us go across* to the other side* of the lake; and they departed. 23 But as they were sailing he began to slumber. And there descended a gale of wind upon the lake, and they were being filled up, and they were in danger. 24 But they came toward him and woke him up, saying: Sir, sir, we are perishing. But he woke up and rebuked the wind and the surge of water. And it stopped, and there came a calm. 25 But he said* to them:* Where is your faith?* But they were afraid and wondered, saying toward one another: Who then is this, that he even orders the winds and the water, and they obey him? |
