13 Then there comes along Jesus away from Galilee up to the Jordan to John to be baptized by him. 14 But John prevented him, saying: I have need to be baptized by you, and you come to me? 15 But Jesus answered and said to him: Allow it this time, for thus it is proper for us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he allows him. 16 And Jesus, having been baptized, straightway ascended away from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened up to him, and he saw* the spirit of God descending just as a dove and coming upon him, 17 and behold, a voice out of the heavens, saying: This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased. |
9 And it came about in those days that Jesus came away from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized into the Jordan by John. 10 And straightway ascending out of the water he saw* the heavens being rent and the spirit as a dove descending into him, 11 and there was a voice out of the heavens: You are my beloved son; in you I am well pleased. |
21 And it came about that, while all the people were being baptized and Jesus had been baptized and was praying, [the] heaven was opened up 22 and the holy spirit was descending in bodily image as a dove upon him, and there was a voice out of heaven: You are my beloved son; in you I am well pleased. |

29 The next day he saw Jesus
coming to him, and he
says: Behold, the lamb of God, the one who is
taking away the sins of the world.
30 This is he on behalf of whom I said:
After me is coming a man who is to my fore, since he was before me.
31 And I did not know him, but, so that he might be made
apparent to Israel, on account of this I came baptizing in water.
32 And John testified saying: I have watched
the spirit descending
as a dove from heaven, and it remained
upon him.
33 And I did not know him, but he who sent me
to baptize in water, that one said to me: Upon whom you see the spirit
descending and remaining upon him, this is the one baptizing in the holy spirit.
34 And I have seen and have testified that
this is the son of God.
