58 But Peter was following him from afar until the courtyard of the high priest, and went inside* and sat down with the officers to see the ending. [....] 69 But Peter was sitting down outside in the courtyard; and* one servant girl* came to him, saying: You* were also with Jesus the Galilean.* 70 But he denied it before all, saying: I do not know what you are saying.* 71 But when he went into the gateway another saw him and says to those there: This man* was with Jesus the Nazoraean.* 72 And again he denied it with an oath: I do not know the man. 73 But after a* little bit those standing by said to Peter: Truly you are also from among them,* for your speech also makes it clear you are. 74 Then he began to curse and swear: I do not know the man. And straightway a cock crowed. 75 And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, who had said: Before a cock crows you shall thrice deny me. And he went outside and wept bitterly. |
54 And Peter followed him from afar until inside* the courtyard of the high priest, and was seated* down with the officers and was warming himself toward the light.* [....] 66 And as Peter was down in the courtyard there comes one of the servant girls* of the high priest, 67 and when* she saw* Peter warming himself she looked at him and says: You* were also with the Nazarene* Jesus. 68 But he denied it, saying: I neither know nor understand what you are saying.* And he went out onto the porch, and a cock crowed. 69 And the servant girl saw him and again began to say to the bystanders: This man* is from among them.* 70 But again he denied it. And after a* little bit again the bystanders were saying to Peter: Truly you are from among them, for you are also a Galilean.* 71 But he began to curse and swear: I do not know this man of whom you speak. 72 And straightway, for the second time, a cock crowed. And Peter remembered the word, how Jesus had said to him: Before a cock crows twice you shall thrice deny me. And he cast himself out and wept. |
54b But Peter was following afar. 55 And, after they kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and were sitting down, Peter sat down in their midst. 56 But when* a certain servant girl* saw* him seated* down toward the light* and stared at him and said: This man* was also with him. 57 But he denied it, saying: I do not know him, woman. 58 And after a* while another saw him and spoke: You* also are from among them.* But Peter spoke: Man, I am not. 59 And when about one hour had passed another one insisted, saying: Of a truth this man was also with him, for he is also a Galilean.* 60 But Peter said: Man, I do not know what you are saying.* And immediately, while he was still talking, a cock crowed. 61 And the Lord turned and looked at Peter, and Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said to him: Before a cock crows today you shall thrice deny me. 62 And he went outside and wept bitterly. |

15 But Simon
Peter was
following Jesus,
along with another disciple. And that disciple was known to the high priest,
and he went in along with Jesus inside
the courtyard of the high
priest,
16 but Peter was standing outside toward the door.
The other disciple, then, the one known of the high priest, went outside and
spoke to the doorkeeper, and he brought Peter in.
17 The servant girl,
the doorkeeper, says therefore to Peter: Are you
not also from among
the disciples of this man?
He says: I am
not.
18 And the servants and the
officers were standing there, having made a charcoal flame, since
it was cold, and they were warming
themselves. And Peter was also
with them, standing and
warming himself. [....] 25 And Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. So they said to him: Are you not also from among his disciples? He denied it and said: I am not. 26 One from among the servants of the high priest, being a kinsman of the one whose ear Peter had cut off, says: Did I not see you in the garden with him? 27 Again then Peter denied it. And straightway a cock crowed. |
