{^27.1 But when it was early all the chief priests* and the elders of the people reached a decision against Jesus,* to put him to death; ² and they bound him and led him away* and delivered him over to Pilate, the leader.} ⁵⁹ And the high priests and the whole sanhedrin were seeking false testimony against Jesus so as to put him to death, ⁶⁰ and they did not find any, though many false testifiers had come forward. But finally two came forward and ⁶¹ said: This man spoke: I can destroy the temple of God and during three days build it. ⁶² And the high priest stood up and said to him: Do you answer nothing? What are these men testifying against you? ⁶³ But Jesus was silent. And the high priest said to him: I charge you by oath against the living God to say* to us* if you are the Christ the son of God. ⁶⁴ Jesus says to him: You said* it; but I say to you, from this moment you will see the son of man sitting at the right hand of power and coming upon the clouds of heaven. ⁶⁵ Then the high priest tore his tunics, saying: He blasphemed. What need have we still of testifiers? Behold, now you heard the blasphemy. ⁶⁶ How does it seem to you? What are these men testifying against you? ⁶¹ But he was silent and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him and says to him: Are you the Christ the son of the blessed one? ⁶² But Jesus said: I am,* and you will see the son of man sitting at the right hand of power and coming with the clouds of heaven. ⁶³ But the high priest tore his cloaks and says: What need have we still of testifiers? ⁶⁴ You heard the blasphemy. How does it appear to you? And they all condemned him to be guilty unto death.	⁶⁶ And as it became day the eldership of the people came together, both chief priests* and scribes, and they led him away* into their sanhedrin, ⁶⁷ saying: If you are the Christ, say* it to us.* But he said to them: If I say it to you you will not have faith in me; ⁶⁸ but if I asked you you would not answer. ⁶⁹ But from now on the son of man will be sitting at the right hand of the power of God. ⁷⁰ But all said: Are you therefore the son of God? And he said toward them: You say* that I am.* ⁷¹ But they said: What need have we still of testimony? For we ourselves heard it from his own mouth.
