17 And Jesus,* ascending unto Jerusalem, took the twelve disciples aside in private and said to them on the road:* 18 Behold, we are ascending unto Jerusalem, and the son of man will be delivered up to the high priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death, 19 and they will deliver him up to gentiles so as to mock him and to scourge and crucify him, and on the third day he will be raised. |
32 But they were on the road* ascending unto Jerusalem, and Jesus* was leading them, and they wondered, and those following were afraid. And again taking the twelve aside he began to say to them the things about to befall him: 33 Behold, we are ascending unto Jerusalem, and the son of man will be delivered up to the high priests and the scribes, and they will condemn him to death, and they will deliver him up to gentiles, 34 and they will mock him and spit on him and will scourge him and will kill him. and after three days he will resurrect. |
31 But taking the twelve aside he said toward them: Behold, we are ascending unto Jerusalem, and all the things written through the prophets about the son of man will be finished. 32 For he will be delivered up to gentiles and he will be mocked and disgraced and spat on, 33 and after scourging him they will kill him, and on the third day, he will resurrect. 34 And they understood none of these things, and this word was hidden away from them, and they did not know the things that were said. |
