²⁹ Καὶ ἐκπορευομένων αὐτῶν ἀπὸ Ἰεριχὼ ἠκολούθησεν αὐτῷ ὄχλος* πολύς. ³⁰ καὶ ἰδοὺ, δύο τυφλοὶ καθήμενοι παρὰ τὴν ὁδόν, ἀκούσαντες ὅτι Ἰησοῦς παράγει, ἔκραξαν λέγοντες· Ἐλέησον ἡμᾶς, κύριε, υἱὸς Δαυίδ. ³¹ ὁ δὲ ὄχλος ἐπετίμησεν αὐτοῖς ἵνα σιωπήσωσιν· οἱ δὲ μεῖζον ἔκραξαν, λέγοντες· Ἐλέησον ἡμᾶς, κύριε, υἱὸς Δαυίδ. ³² καὶ στὰς ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἐφώνησεν αὐτοὺς καὶ εἶπεν· Τί θέλετε ποιήσω ὑμῖν; ³³ λέγουσιν αὐτῷ· Κύριε, ἵνα ἀνοιγῶσιν οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ ἡμῶν. ³⁴ σπλαγχνισθεὶς δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἥψατο τῶν ὀμμάτων αὐτῶν, καὶ εὐθέως ἀνέβλεψαν καὶ ἠκολούθησαν αὐτῷ.	⁴⁶ Καὶ ἔρχονται εἰς Ἰεριχώ. καὶ ἐκπορευομένου αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ Ἰεριχὼ καὶ τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ καὶ ὄχλου* ἱκανοῦ ὁ υἱὸς Τιμαίου Βαρτιμαῖος τυφλὸς προσαίτης* ἐκάθητο παρὰ τὴν ὁδόν. ⁴⁷ καὶ ἀκούσας ὅτι Ἰησοῦς ὁ Ναζαρηνός ἐστιν ἤρξατο κράζειν καὶ λέγειν· Υἱὲ Δαυὶδ, Ἰησοῦ, ἐλέησόν με. ⁴⁸ καὶ ἐπετίμων αὐτῷ πολλοὶ ἵνα σιωπήσῃ· ὁ δὲ πολλῷ μᾶλλον ἔκραζεν· Υἱὲ Δαυίδ, ἐλέησόν με. ⁴⁹ καὶ στὰς ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν· Φωνήσατε αὐτόν. καὶ φωνοῦσιν τὸν τυφλὸν, λέγοντες αὐτῷ· Θάρσει, ἔγειρε, φωνεῖ σε. ⁵⁰ ὁ δὲ ἀποβαλὼν τὸ ἱμάτιον αὐτοῦ ἀναπηδήσας ἦλθεν πρὸς τὸν Ἰησοῦν. ⁵¹ καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν· Τί σοι θέλεις ποιήσω; ὁ δὲ τυφλὸς εἶπεν αὐτῷ· Ραββουνι, ἵνα ἀναβλέψω. ⁵² καὶ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτῷ· Υπαγε· ἡ πίστις σου σέσωκέν σε. καὶ εὐθὺς ἀνέβλεψεν καὶ ἠκολούθει αὐτῷ ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ.	³⁵ Ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν τῷ ἐγγίζειν αὐτὸν εἰς Ἰεριχὼ τυφλός τις ἐκάθητο παρὰ τὴν ὁδὸν ἐπαιτῶν.* ³⁶ ἀκούσας δὲ ὄχλου* διαπορευομένου ἐπυνθάνετο τί εἴη τοῦτο· ³⁷ ἀπήγγειλαν δὲ αὐτῷ ὅτι Ἰησοῦς ὁ Ναζωραῖος παρέρχεται. ³⁸ καὶ ἐβόησεν λέγων· Ἰησοῦ, υἱὲ Δαυίδ, ἐλέησόν με. ³⁹ καὶ οἱ προάγοντες ἐπετίμων αὐτῷ ἵνα σιγήσῃ· αὐτὸς δὲ πολλῷ μᾶλλον ἔκραζεν· Υἱὲ Δαυίδ, ἐλέησόν με. ⁴⁰ σταθεὶς δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἐκέλευσεν αὐτὸν ἀχθῆναι πρὸς αὐτόν. ἐγγίσαντος δὲ αὐτοῦ ἐπηρώτησεν αὐτόν· ⁴¹ Τί σοι θέλεις ποιήσω; ὁ δὲ εἶπεν· Κύριε, ἵνα ἀναβλέψω. ⁴² καὶ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτῷ· Ἀνάβλεψον· ἡ πίστις σου σέσωκέν σε. ⁴³ καὶ παραχρῆμα ἀνέβλεψεν καὶ ἠκολούθει αὐτῷ δοξάζων τὸν θεόν. καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ἰδὼν ἔδωκεν αἶνον τῷ θεῷ.

²⁹ And as they were journeying out away from Jericho there followed him a* great crowd.* ³⁰ And behold, two blind men sitting by the road, having heard that Jesus was going by, they shouted, saying: Have mercy on us, Lord, son of David. ³¹ But the crowd commanded them to be quiet. But they shouted more than ever, saying: Have mercy on us, Lord, son of David. ³² And Jesus stood still and summoned them, and said: What do you wish me to do for you? ³³ They say to him: Lord, that my eyes be opened up. ³⁴ But Jesus had compassion and touched their eyes, and straightway they saw again and followed him.	⁴⁶ And they come unto Jericho. And as he was journeying out away from Jericho, along with his disciples and a* large crowd,* Bartimaeus the son of Timaeus, a blind man, a beggar, sat by the road. ⁴⁷ And, having heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to shout and to say: Son of David, Jesus, have mercy on me. ⁴⁸ And many commanded him to be quiet. But he shouted all the more: Son of David, have mercy on me. ⁴⁹ And Jesus stood still and said: Summon him. And they summoned the blind man, saying to him: Courage, rise, he summons you. ⁵⁰ And he cast away his cloak and jumped up and came toward Jesus. ⁵¹ And Jesus answered him and said: What do you wish me to do for you? But the blind man said to him: Rabboni, that I might see again. ⁵² And Jesus said to them: Get on; your faith has saved you. and straightway he saw again and followed him on the road.	³⁵ But it happened as he drew near unto Jericho that a certain blind man sat begging by the road. ³⁶ But when he heard a* crowd* journeying by he inquired what this was. ³⁷ And they announced to him that Jesus the Nazorean was coming by. ³⁸ And he cried out, saying: Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me. ³⁹ And those in the lead commanded him to be silent. But he himself shouted all the more: Son of David, have mercy on me. ⁴⁰ But Jesus stood still and commanded him to be led toward him. But when he drew near he asked him: ⁴¹ What do you wish me to do for you? But he said: Lord, that I might see again. ⁴² And Jesus said to them: See again; your faith has saved you. ⁴³ and immediately he saw again and followed him, glorifying God. And all the people saw and gave praise to God.
