10 And it happened that he was lying back in the house, and behold, many tax-collectors and sinners came and lay back together with Jesus and his disciples. 11 And the Pharisees, when they saw, said to his disciples: Why does your teacher eat with tax-collectors and sinners? 12 But he heard and said: It is not the strong who have need of a physician, but those doing badly. 13 But go and learn what it means: I wish for mercy and not sacrifice: For I did not come to call the just, but sinners. |
15 And it happens that he was lying down in his house, and many tax-collectors and sinners lay back together with Jesus and his disciples, for there were many and they followed him. 16 And the scribes of the Pharisees, when they saw that he was eating with the sinners and tax-collectors, said to his disciples: Why does he eat with tax-collectors and sinners? 17 And Jesus heard and says to them: It is not the strong who have need of a physician, but those doing badly. I did not come to call the just, but sinners. |
29 And Levi made a great banquet for him in his house, and there was a great crowd tax-collectors and others who were lying down with him. 30 And the Pharisees and their scribes grumbled at his disciples, saying: Why does he eat and drink with tax-collectors and sinners? 31 And Jesus answered and said to them: It is not the healthy who have need of a physician, but those doing badly. 32 I have not come to call the just, but sinners unto repentance. |
