{5.15 Nor does one burn a lamp and place it under the peck-basket, but rather* upon the lampstand, and it shines to all who are in the house. 5.16 Thus let your light* shine before men, that they might* see your good works and glorify your father who is in the heavens.} 22 The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is single, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light which is in you be darkness, how great is the darkness. |
{8.16 But no one after kindling a lamp hides it with a vessel or places it underneath a bed, but rather* places it upon a lampstand, so that those who journey in might* look at the light.*} 33 No one after kindling a lamp places it into a crypt, nor under the peck-basket, but rather upon the lampstand, so that those who journey in might look at the light. 34 The lamp of the body is your eye. When your eye is single, your whole body is also full of light. But when it is evil, your body is also full of darkness. 35 Watch therefore lest the light which is in you be darkness. 36 If therefore your whole body is full of light, not having any dark part, it will be wholly full of light, as when the lamp lights you up with its flash. |
