4 And Jesus answered and said to them: See that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, saying: It is I, the Christ, and will deceive many. 6 But you are about to hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not terrified. For it must happen, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there shall be famines* and earthquakes in places. 8 But all these things are the beginning of birth pangs. |
5 But Jesus began to say to them: See that no one deceives you. 6 Many will come in my name, saying: It is I, and will deceive many. 7 But, when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be terrified. It must happen, but the end is not yet. 8 For nation shall rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there shall be earthquakes in places; there shall be famines.* These things are the beginning of birth pangs. |
8 But he said: See that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, saying: It is I, and: The time has come near. Do not journey after them. 9 But, when you hear of wars and disturbances, do not be disturbed. For these things must happen first, but the end is not [coming] straightway. 10 Then he said to them: Nation shall rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, 11 and there shall be great earthquakes and in places famines* and plagues. There will be fears and great signs from heaven. |
