¹⁸ Πρωῒ* δὲ ἐπανάγων εἰς τὴν πόλιν ἐπείνασεν. ¹⁹ καὶ ἰδὼν συκῆν μίαν ἐπὶ τῆς ὁδοῦ ἦλθεν ἐπ᾿ αὐτήν, καὶ οὐδὲν εὗρεν ἐν αὐτῇ* εἰ μὴ φύλλα μόνον, καὶ λέγει αὐτῇ· Μηκέτι ἐκ σοῦ* καρπὸς* γένηται εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα. καὶ ἐξηράνθη παραχρῆμα ἡ συκῆ.* ²⁰ καὶ ἰδόντες οἱ μαθηταὶ ἐθαύμασαν λέγοντες· Πῶς παραχρῆμα ἐξηράνθη ἡ συκῆ; ²¹ ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Ἀμὴν, λέγω ὑμῖν, ἐὰν ἔχητε πίστιν καὶ μὴ διακριθῆτε,* οὐ μόνον τὸ τῆς συκῆς ποιήσετε, ἀλλὰ κἂν τῷ ὄρει τούτῳ εἴπητε· Ἄρθητι καὶ βλήθητι εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν, γενήσεται· ²² καὶ πάντα ὅσα ἂν αἰτήσητε ἐν τῇ προσευχῇ πιστεύοντες λήμψεσθε.	¹² Καὶ τῇ ἐπαύριον ἐξελθόντων αὐτῶν ἀπὸ Βηθανίας ἐπείνασεν. ¹³ καὶ ἰδὼν συκῆν ἀπὸ μακρόθεν ἔχουσαν φύλλα ἦλθεν εἰ ἄρα τι εὑρήσει ἐν αὐτῇ,* καὶ ἐλθὼν ἐπ᾿ αὐτὴν οὐδὲν εὗρεν εἰ μὴ φύλλα· ὁ γὰρ καιρὸς οὐκ ἦν σύκων. ¹⁴ καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν αὐτῇ· Μηκέτι εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα ἐκ σοῦ* μηδεὶς καρπὸν* φάγοι. καὶ ἤκουον οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ. ¹⁸ But early,* when he was returning into the city, he grew hungry. ¹⁹ And he saw a lone fig tree on the way, and he came up to it, and found nothing on it* except leaves alone. And he says to it: May there never be fruit from you unto the age. And the fig tree immediately withered up. ²⁰ And when the disciples saw this they wondered, saying: How did the fig tree wither up immediately? ²¹ But Jesus answered and said to them: Amen, I say to you,* If you have faith and do not doubt,* you will not only do what was done to the fig tree but also will say to this mountain: Be taken up and cast into the sea, and it will happen. ²² And all things, as many as you ask for in prayer, having faith you shall receive.	¹² And the next day, when they had gone out of Bethany, he grew hungry. ¹³ And he saw a fig tree from afar which had leaves, and he came to see if he might find anything on it,* and he came up to it and found nothing except leaves; for it was not the season for figs. ¹⁴ And he answered and said to it: May no one ever eat fruit from you unto the age. And his disciples heard him. [....] ¹⁹ And when it became evening they journeyed out of the city. ²⁰ And, as they were journeying along early,* they saw the fig tree withered up from the roots. ²¹ And Peter was reminded and says to him: Rabbi, behold, the fig tree which you cursed has withered up. ²² And Jesus answered and says to them: Have the faith of God. ²³ Amen, I say to you* that whoever says to this mountain: Be taken up and cast into the sea, and does not doubt* in his heart, but has faith that what he says will happen, it will be so for him. ²⁴ On account of this I say to you, all things, as many as you pray and ask for, have faith that you have received them, and it will be so for you.	⁶ But he said this parable: A certain man had a fig tree which had been planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it,* and found none. ⁷ But he said toward the vinekeeper: Behold, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and have not found any. So cut it down. Why does it even waste the ground? ⁸ But he answered and says to him: Lord, leave it for this year also, until I dig up around it and cast on fertilizer. ⁹ And, if it makes fruit in the next [year], fine, but if not cut it down.
