Tables.
Measure for measure.
Below are four tables outlining the sequence of sayings in the catechism that I refer to as measure for measure,
a catena of sayings shared by Clement, Polycarp,
and Luke, with parallels in Matthew.
All four distinctive orders are presented below. The numbers on the four tables
correspond to those listed for each item on the measure for measure page.
I have enclosed in parentheses those parallels that are not as verbally precise
as the others. This imprecision stems entirely from Luke having
οικτιρμων
(compassionate) instead of
ελεημων
(merciful) and
απολυειν
(to release) instead of
αφιεναι
(to forgive).

I have italicized those sayings that are not adjacent with the rest,
and therefore not actually part of the main catena. (Matthew has only two
adjacent sayings.)
